Description: Jordaan used to be a residential quarter, nowadays transformed into a very popular destination with lots of cafés and restaurants. The neighbourhood is beautiful with all its canals and for Amsterdam typical architecture as for example in the district of Prinseneiland.Within a short walking distance you will find most of the tourist attractions and famous squares starting from the Central Station, Leidseplein, Dam, where you will find Madame Tussaud's, Koninklijk Paleis (Royale Palace), Nieuwe Kerk (New Church), Anne Frank-huis and Westerkerk (Westchurch). And you will find as well many interesting markets close to the hotel.
Directions: chicandbasic Amsterdam is a less then 10 minute walk from the Amsterdam Central Train Station. Coming out of the station in the direction of the city centre (Victoria Hotel on the corner) you have immediately go to the right on the street called the Prins Hendrik Kade. By the canal (= 'gracht' in Dutch) called Singel you take a short left and immediately right again. Over the bridge you go to the left so that you walk on the other side of the Singel canal (even numbers). You go quite soon to the right again walking on the Brouwersgracht with the odd numbers. You make a left on the Herengracht and after 50 meters you will find chicandbasic Amsterdam on number 13!
